One of the first things that I noticed about Wakefield Country Day School was the family atmosphere. Be it athletics, academics, or extracurricular activities, there is always someone there, willing to help or provide advice. WCDS places trust in its students, and it is rarely betrayed. The atmosphere at Wakefield trains societal leaders who are open-minded and intent on the betterment of mankind.

Wakefield teachers inspired us to learn beyond the minimal amount and challenged us to analyze everything.

As business owners, I have to say that sending our three children to Wakefield Country Day School has been the best investment we have ever made. Other schools may have had bigger price tags and fancier facilities, but we have appreciated the diversity, the family-like atmosphere, and the academic rigor of WCDS. The proof is in the pudding. When you've got students being accepted at schools like UVA, Cornell, Purdue, and William and Mary, it is easy to see that what matters most is what is happening within the humble walls of this superb school.

Wakefield?s curriculum builds each year on the skills learned from the previous year. As new information is gained, students are challenged to apply that information to new situations, to view problems from all sides, and to think on their feet.

At WCDS, the term ?scholar-athlete? means something.
- Charles Cowherd, 1999
The curriculum is tough, but it makes college easier. Our teachers are wonderful, and they are incredibly good at what they do. They are not distant, and they make lessons interesting. The class sizes are good for learning and individual help.
- Alissa Rye, 2000
Wakefield Country Day School provides an atmosphere that nurtures the desire to learn. It?s ?cool? to be smart at WCDS. Students provide a positive competitiveness that increases the desire to achieve.

- Allison Russo, 2006
At WCDS students learn to respect others and feel respected. Older students are taught that they are to act as role models for the younger ones.
- Jeff Leser, Front Royal parent
Every student is encouraged to achieve the best. We are challenged academically in our classes and physically in sports. No matter how hard it gets, we always have friends around us, because the school we have built is a diverse and loving family.
- Marissa Sullivan, 2006
People are really nice and welcoming to new students. Also, small classes give you an opportunity to learn more and get individual attention from the teacher.
