Academics
Most
of Wakefield's teachers hold advanced degrees in their chosen fields
and enjoy challenging their small, well-disciplined classes with the best of
western civilization in the arts, mathematics, and science. As a result, Wakefield
has become internationally known for its overall academic excellence and especially
its language arts program.
Wakefield Country Day School offers several diplomas based on 27 to 35 credits and reflecting a variety of concentrations in science, classical studies, and the arts. The results of the program speak for themselves. For example, in language arts last year, Wakefield Country Day School seniors' verbal SAT scores averaged over 700, 182 points above the national mean.
